Ludington North Pierhead Light

After blowing a chance to visit this light with my parents, I got a second chance to do so while visiting with Lynn and Bill. Bill had to take their big rig down to Grand Rapids for maintenance so Lynn and I piled into my truck and headed for Lake Michigan.

Here's a nice picturesque view of the light from the end of the road. To get closer to the light, we would either have to go over to the park and use the walkway or learn to walk on water.

Getting closer to the light, we pause to catch our breath and have a "Kodak moment" (I noticed several cameras out and clicking around us).

Note how the walkway slopes down on both sides to a lower walk level. Lynn clambered down at the end to get the next shot. She says I owe her one, big time!

This is our "dramatic" view, courtesy of Lynn.

Hugging the light

Of course I had to hug the light. Behind me you can see the marker for the other breakwater

Here is a close up of the marker

Just had to get a shot of the gull perched on top of the lantern house.
